waiting for phone calls…

I just (and I mean minutes ago) got off the phone with my oncologist, Dr. Arbaje. After brief hellos, he got to the point: “everything looks good,” he said.

Aside from a few small spots where the tumors in my lungs “were,” everything is clear. No new growths. The spots at the site of my former tumors are normal, he said, probably nothing more than scar tissue.

So, life goes on (and on and on and on…), and we will stick to the already established routine of check-ups every couple of months, and continue monitoring my blasted tumor markers.

Thank you all for your notes and phone calls. I will call you back as soon as I get a chance (working on a show today and then off to the new house to continue dismantling the bathroom).

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Kellie Gutman over at The Ashden Directory for mentioning my battle with cancer in a write up that was about my theater life. It helped me realize how my own struggles with disease have made me ever more passionate about the work I do — especially where the greening of theater production is concerned.
